Contact Information

My Name is Vincent Leo Damewood. I live in Portland, Oregon, USA. I'm currently between jobs. I've worked, previously, as a programmer developing a package-tracking system for a delivery company, and as a test engineer testing Fibre Channel over Ethernet technology at Intel. I'm currently looking for a job as a web developer, programmer, or network/system administrator. (Feel free to have a look at my résumé.)

I graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a bachelor of science in data communication systems technology (DCST), March 26th. I also have an associate of applied science in information technology—computer network systems. My major hobbies are computers and music. I play the guitar and the recorder, but it's been a while since I played either for an extended period of time. School can have that effect on one's free time. My favorite computer systems to work with are Unix systems and similar systems such as Linux and BSD (especially Macintosh OS X).

Music

In the world of music, I play classical guitar. Additionally, I hope to learn to play flamenco, and new age. I also play the occasional pop and rock song. I'd also like to learn to play the lute, but they're too expensive for me to get one any time soon. My favorite kinds of music are new age, electronic (especially trance and house), and alternative rock. The only music I don't like listening to is Tom Jones and Gangsta rap.

Computers

In the world of computer, I'm a web developer and programmer. I've learned to program with numerous languages, and I've learned that languages aren't the most important things to programming. I first started to learn to program when I figured out how to get the example BASIC programs in my elementary-school textbooks to run. I started Web Development back in middle school. While I've written programs using several different languages, I prefer Python and C mostly. I also like to work with SQL databases, and do web development with PHP.
